Pumpkin Seeds

After you are done carving your Jack O’Lantern; don’t throw them seeds away, (even if you don’t like them) They can be used for divination, crafts and if not one of those… heck send them to me I LOVE homemade pumpkin seeds!

What you will need –   1 1/2 cups pumpkin seeds (pref.)

2 tablespoons of butter

salt to taste (or any seasonings you’d like)

Preheat oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit        onlineconversion.com/temperature

scoop seeds out from a fresh pumpkin (best to cut around the outer of stem,   about 1-2 inches away staying as consistent as possible)

In a strainer wash seeds under cold water, removing the stringy fibers.

Blot dry with paper towels and set aside in bowl

Melt the butter in a saucepan and pour over the bowl of seeds. Sprinkle with salt (and other seasonings ) until the seeds are lightly coated

mix around to  coat the seeds

Spread  the seeds on a baking sheet in a single layer.

Bake for 45 minutes stirring occasionally until seeds are golden brown.

(If you weren’t able to find a pumpkin you liked….or it didn’t have many seeds I’ve read to

Get the store bought shelled (no shell) seeds at the grocery (they are usually in a container like what you get pasta salad in from the deli)

So the same butter & seasoning as above & mix

bake for 15-30 minutes.

(keep an eye on them)
